Metabolic syndrome in women linked to higher risk of gynaecological cancers: ICMR study

Metabolic Syndrome is a cluster of metabolic abnormalities such as obesity, high blood sugar (hyperglycaemia), hypertension, elevated triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol. According to the study, about 35% of adult women in the country suffer from MeS, compared to 26% of men. The condition becomes more common with age.
